about

CURRENTLY OUT OF PRESS.

Dugong's debut album, The Eastmoor Rules, was an incredibly ambitious affair and proved that Dugong were growing out of their Wakefield pop-punk influences fast.

Here the band added some new elements to their sound, from jazz to emo to indie to post-hardcore, yet the band still maintained a strong sense of their own identity throughout.

From the pop-punk of New Year / New Start (a song title that would inspire our decade long stint of January all-dayers), through the instrumental post-rock of I Have My Mother's Eyes and the Karate-esque People Like You Are Hard To Find... All the way to the acoustic Null and Void (a taster of what was to become Nathaniel Green),

Dugong created a masterpiece and, to be honest, raised the bar for Bombed Out. Something they'd do again two years later with Hat Danko.
