About 4 years in the making, the debut album from Manchester/Stoke stalwarts The Leif Ericsson was worth the wait.

The self titled release contained 11 blasts of utterly brilliant punk rock. Like many UK (and Gainesville) bands before, The "Leif" took their musical queues from Snuff and Leatherface but added an anthemic quality that also brought to mind the finest in 80s UK punk. The Snuff influence in particular ran more than skin-deep as singer/guitarist Will Farley also moonlit in Duncan Redmonds' Billy No Mates band.

If further evidence was needed we could also point out that the band featured ex-Propagumbhis and Spy Vs Spy/Future Adventures alumni but of course that would be gratuitous now, wouldn’t it?...

Since the band called it a day in 2012 (they actually stopped gigging a few years earlier but reformed to play a handful of gigs over that summer) Will and Neil have gone on to play in Stay Clean Jolene with members of The Great St. Louis.
